I had so much fun with this family this weekend. It’s such a different experience working with big kids. I think I was laughing more than they were. I got a kick out of interacting with the youngest, who is a year older than my oldest son. (So many similarities!) When we ventured away from the trail, we found a bunch of cactuses growing among the gravel and at one point, we were overtaken by a herd of leaping spiders. That is the only word appropriate for what I saw swarming out of the tall grass… a herd. One of the boys picked one up, but Kari and I ran out of there like nobody’s business. N-O-P-E.
