This was such a fun session for me to shoot. For one, I have two young sons and so that “mom and her boys” dynamic really tugs at my heartstrings. Secondly, I absolutely love shooting for black and white. It’s one thing to simply convert a photo to black and white: you may or may not get good results. But, when I know I’ll be converting it to black and white, I completely change the way I shoot, looking for the highlights and rich shadows that I know will look amazing in monochrome. I do this often at home with my family, but it’s not so often that I have this request from a client, so it was a real treat.
